The 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs head out west to take on the Chargers for the first time in their new home in Los Angeles. Here are five things to watch in this week’s game.

It is week three of the 2017 NFL season, and the Kansas City Chiefs are headed out west to open up their division schedule against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs are coming into this week as the favorites, and a top ranked team in most power rankings. However, that does not make this game an easy one.

The Chargers are 0-2, but have played both games very close. This is a team still being led by Philip Rivers, who has a proven record of being a competitor. However, it is hard to find much else going for LA right now as this team isn’t even being accepted by their new fan base.

Kansas City needs to come into this game and dominate early. This is an excellent chance for a statement game. However, there is also the opportunity for a let down game. There can be no lack of focus from the Chiefs this week, especially with the Broncos and Raiders both standing undefeated right now.

A Strong Start To The Season

If the Kansas City Chiefs can get the win this week, their upcoming schedule paves the way for a very strong start to the season. The Chiefs should be heavy favorites in their next two games. A 5-0 start on the season would put Kansas City in the drivers seat in the AFC before matching up with the Steelers.

The schedule gets much tougher for Kansas City during the middle of the season. So getting these wins now would be huge and could provide a bit of cushion for the Chiefs down the stretch. They already have one big win under their belt, which was very unexpected. Right now, many pundits are starting to see KC as the team to beat in the AFC.

To keep that perception alive, here are the things to watch for when the Chiefs take on the Chargers this week…
