SIT ‘EM #2

42. Projected Points: 7. Wide Receiver. 49ers. Pierre Garcon. 2. player

This should go without saying, but I wasn’t about to include Brian Hoyer on here because that is common sense. Niners wide receiver Pierre Garcon is at least talented enough to be on someone’s fantasy football roster, but he should not be starting for your unit this week.

What’s mainly holding Garcon back is the fact that Hoyer is his quarterback. Garcon had a nice first game, catching six passes for 81 yards against Carolina. In week two, however, Hoyer struggled to get anything going against Seattle’s defense and threw for less than 100 yards.

As a result, Garcon didn’t get many looks. He was targeted five times, catching three passes for just 26 yards. He has yet to find the end zone and is definitely someone you’ll want to keep on the bench this week.

Garcon has the potential for big weeks (like in week one), but it’ll be few and far between with Brian Hoyer as his quarterback. It just goes to show you that a bad quarterback can definitely hold back talented receivers.
