Kansas City Chiefs: Report Card Vs Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2
It was looking bleak at the beginning of the game, as rookie Kareem Hunt was limited to just nine yards off of eight carries heading into half time. The Eagles had an answer for stopping him and it wasn’t looking good for the Chiefs run game.
Hunt managed to sneak the football across the line with his arm extended to give the Chiefs six points. That was a veteran move.
Fortunately, Hunt got it going in the second half and the Eagles couldn’t stop him. The rookie ended his second professional game with 13 carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns. He had the 53 yard run in the third quarter and then had a two-yard run into the end zone in the fourth quarter.
That second touchdown was impressive because Hunt managed to sneak the football across the line with his arm extended to give the Chiefs six points. That was a veteran move, not a rookie move, and that’s what makes Hunt so special for this offense. He makes those big plays that Spencer Ware couldn’t make last year (not knocking on Ware, but come on… Hunt is amazing).
Next up for Kareem Hunt is the Los Angeles Chargers, who gave up 122 yards on the ground to Jay Ajayi this past weekend. Hunt has to be licking his chops at that thought.
