Kansas State Wildcats Report Card

The Kansas State Wildcats get a well-timed bye week to get home and recover from this shocking heart-breaking loss. Expect them to drop clear out of the top 25 polls. They will be back on the field September 30th as they take on the reeling Baylor Bears in Manhattan, Kansas.

However, for a team with big goals, this game is a foundation-shaking loss. When you are chasing Oklahoma and they just went on the road and beat Ohio State, then you need to follow suit. Vanderbilt is going to get some publicity and may even sneak into the top 25, but let’s clear, this Vanderbilt team is probably shooting for seven wins on the high side, this season. KSU had two TD’s called back with questionable (bad) calls, played a game that I gave “D”s and “F”s for most of my grades and still only lost by 7 on the road to Vanderbilt. The Wildcats losing to a team like that certainly changes the focus on this season. Instead of a big12 title and 10 or 11 wins, it’s probably time to look towards 8 or 9 wins as the goal.

Thankfully, Bill Snyder is known as the wizard for a reason. I expect the coaching staff to start making changes quickly and using this bye to avoid a repeat performance.
