SIT ‘EM

50. Projected Points: 18. Quarterback. Lions. Matthew Stafford. 1. player

After a massive week for Matthew Stafford against the Cardinals, it might seem crazy to even suggest sitting him this weekend. The reasoning for that, however, is that he’ll be facing the Giants and their secondary is pretty legit.

It’ll seem like a crazy decision to sit Stafford this week, but we can’t expect him to put up those same numbers against New York’s defense.

The Giants held Dak Prescott of the Cowboys to 268 yards and just one touchdown and limited his weapons. The receiver with the biggest game was Terrance Williams, who had six catches for 68 yards.

It’ll seem like a crazy decision to sit Stafford this week, but we can’t expect him to put up those same numbers against New York’s defense. He threw for just shy of 300 yards and four touchdowns, but those numbers will be tough to replicate in week two.

Stafford can also be turnover prone at times, throwing a pick six in his first attempt last weekend. While the turnovers can be worth it if the rest of the play is good, I don’t trust Stafford to have another incredible outing this weekend.
