GOOD: RUN GAME

The Mizzou offense let fans down on Saturday, but the running game did its part. The Tigers running backs totaled 37 carries for 179 yards on the night, but didn’t find the end zone.

The leader on the ground was Damarea Crockett who took the football 18 times for 97 yards, but was slowly less and less visible as the night went on. Mizzou could have certainly used Crockett out there in the second half.

Ish Witter (my favorite name in college football now that Jake Butt is in the NFL) had 12 carries for 72 yards, which showed that he can be a nice tool for this team to have as well. Witter adds a nice two punch behind Crockett.

On a night where the passing game wasn’t where it should have been, it was good to see MU’s running backs pick up the slack a bit. Hopefully they can continue to rock it even when the passing offense isn’t at the top of its game.
