UGLY: SECONDARY

Oh, man… The Kansas secondary was brutal to watch. The defense held its own in the first quarter, keeping the Chippewas off the scoreboard, but things went downhill from there.

Central Michigan put up nearly 600 yards on offense and 467 of those came from Chips quarterback Shane Morris, who went 28 of 37 for 467 and five touchdowns. He was not picked off once and had several opportunities to hit a wide open receiver down the field.

Two Chips receivers went for over 100 yards on the day, which is never good for a defense. The KU secondary needs to improve if this team wants any shot at getting victory number two. The rest of the Big 12 could throw all over the Jayhawks just like Central Michigan did.

There wasn’t much question as to what the ugly was in this one. Without a doubt, it was the Jayhawks secondary who let fans down the most in week two.
