BAD: PASS BLOCKING

Part of why Peyton Bender had such a long day on Saturday is that his offensive line wasn’t helping him much. Bender wasn’t getting a lot of protection and that played a big role in his two picks.

The line allowed Central Michigan to hit Bender all day long and pressure him to get rid of the football. As a result, Bender was flustered and forced into throws that he didn’t want to make.

With a new quarterback in the system, the Jayhawks have to give him as much help as possible. That wasn’t the case on Saturday and it was unfortunate for Peyton Bender, who had a nice game the week prior in KU’s win.

The offensive line needs to improve, but there was something in this game that was much, much worse.
