GOOD: KENDALL ADAMS AND THE REST OF THE SECONDARY

It would be an impossible task to exclude Kendall Adams, because any time a defender scores, he’s having a good day. When you do it twice? Let’s just say you are in rarefied air.

K-State struggled with good quarterbacks last year, so hopefully they are able to build on this for Big 12 season.

Adams also finished with the second most tackles for the day. This is a defense that has spent all offseason trying to answer the question on how to replace their departed senior captain (Dante Barnett) just moved further past that problem.

The rest of the secondary also played quite well. Charlotte quarterbacks finished with an average of 2.3 yards per pass attempt and totaled only 58 yards passing. It was obvious the 49ers were concerned with the speed and athleticism of the Wildcats secondary. K-State struggled with good quarterbacks last year, so hopefully they are able to build on this for Big 12 season.

I could go on for quite a bit longer on what was “good” for the Cats, but it’s time to dig deep and find something bad about a 48 point blowout. Here’s what the Cats need to clean up before they hit the road for a true challenge against Vanderbilt.
