UGLY: ERIC BERRY INJURY

This could be devastating if it’s as bad as Chiefs fans seem to think it is. In the fourth quarter, safety Eric Berry went down with what looked to be a non-contact injury. Berry sat on the ground for awhile before being carted off the field. It was later reported that it was an Achilles injury, which is not good.

Derrick Johnson has had two Achilles injuries during his career and both times he went down, it looked similar to how it did with Berry. None of us are doctors (well, some of you might be), but we know a bad injury when we see it, and that looked to be pretty bad. You don’t get carted off the field for cramps.

Berry had an exceptional night for the Chiefs and kept Rob Gronkowski to just two catches for 33 yards. That’s insanely good.

If Berry is done for an extended period of time (or the entire season, which is what could be the case), then the Chiefs will have a tough time finding someone to fill his shoes. Eric Berry is simply irreplaceable in this defense.
