SIT ‘EM

player. 52. . Running Back. Jaguars. Leonard Fournette. 2

I live by the “rookie rule” in fantasy football. Basically, if the kid is a rookie and playing in his first ever NFL game, it might be wise to bench him that week and see how he does. Now to each their own, but this is a rule that I’d follow with Leonard Fournette of the Jaguars (if you started Kareem Hunt, however, good move by you!).

If Fournette was going up against the Jets or the Colts, I’d be less skeptical about playing him, but he’ll see the Texans this week. Houston’s good defensively and they ranked 12th in rushing yards allowed per game.

Fournette might think the NFL is slow, but he might have a harsh reality hitting him when he faces the Texans this weekend. Not to mention the Jaguars running back has been dealing with a foot injury, which could slow him down in this one.

I understand those who want to start Fournette so they can say, “I told you so”, but be smart about this. A somewhat injured rookie going up against one of the best defenses in the NFL might not be a good play for you.
