SIT ‘EM

Quarterback. Chargers. Philip Rivers. 1. player. 13.

Philip Rivers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, but he’s not always the best option in fantasy football, especially when he goes up against an elite defense. That is the case this weekend, as Rivers will face the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Rivers hasn’t been very good against Denver and has only amassed the 20 point mark in fantasy once over his last 12 starts against the Broncos. The Chargers signal caller has his top weapon back in Keenan Allen, but Denver still posts the best defense in the league.

With Rivers being prone to throw interceptions (the biggest knock on his fantasy stock), this is not a good match-up for him. The Chargers will make a jump this year, but their first game of the season is going to be a tricky one.

Hopefully you have a better option to slot in as your starting quarterback for this week, because Philip Rivers is not a good choice to have in that role.
