Telling owners to sit rookie Kareem Hunt for week one is going to anger a lot of Chiefs fans, but it makes sense. First and foremost, we don’t know what Hunt is going to look like as a starter and that’s what makes starting him this week risky.
Just a few weeks ago, Spencer Ware was going to be the starting running back for the Chiefs. Ware went down with an injury in the third preseason game and now Kareem Hunt has been asked to step into that starting role.
Going on the road against the defending champs in their first game back to their home turf since winning it all is a tall task to ask anyone to do, let alone a rookie. I’m cautious on starting any rookie this week (I have both Hunt and Leonard Fournette in one league and I’m terrified), simply because we’re not sure how they’ll look in their debuts.
Sit Kareem Hunt and just see how well he performs in his first NFL game.
