Fantasy Football 2017: Thursday Night Football Start Em Sit Em Week 1

SIT ‘EM
This shouldn’t surprise anyone, as Alex Smith isn’t anyone’s first choice when it comes to quarterbacks in fantasy football. Smith is a nice backup to have for sure and his ability to run is an even sweeter asset that he provides.
This game, however, is not one where Smith should be slotted in as the starter. Perhaps if you’re in a two-starting quarterback league then Smith could make sense, but otherwise I’d steer clear.
Smith isn’t going to wow anyone with his passing stats. He only threw for more than 300 yards once last year and that came in week one against the Chargers in that insane comeback. Smith also only threw for 15 touchdowns last year, which isn’t going to blow anyone’s mind.
While Smith isn’t a bad fantasy quarterback, he’s not a good choice to have as your starter for week one. Sit Smith this week.
