START ‘EM
People might forget that former Saints receiver Brandin Cooks was traded to the Patriots this offseason, but it was a move that further solidified the Pats as the team to beat in the AFC. As such, you should definitely be starting Cooks on Thursday night.
The Chiefs secondary was pretty solid a year ago, but there is some mystery with their cornerback situation. Marcus Peters is a good corner, but with Steven Nelson out for a few weeks, he’s basically the only good corner out there. Cooks should be able to get some significant targets and find the end zone in this one.
Last year, Cooks hauled in 78 passes for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns when he was catching passes from Drew Brees in New Orleans. Now, however, he gets someone even better in Tom Brady. That should be a nice opening debut for Cooks as a Patriot and he’s an easy guy to slot in as a starter for Thursday night.
