If you are a fan of daily fantasy football leagues like FanDuel, what bargains might there be in the NFL’s opening game Thursday night between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots?

Fantasy football has evolved to more than just yearly leagues. Daily fantasy leagues through outlets like FanDuel and Draft Kings give fans more options.

Some fans may like to include a player or two from their favorite team each week. Are there any bargains on Fanduel to be had when the Kansas City Chiefs go on the road to face the New England Patriots to kick off the 2017 NFL season?

Check out the salaries this week for some of the players at key positions. What bargains do you see?

Fanduel Fantasy Football Quarterbacks: Alex Smith vs. Tom Brady

Tom Brady is not a bargain in week one, and he probably won’t be a true bargain at any time this season. You have to pay for the best. Against the Chiefs, Brady is listed as the most expensive quarterback option at $8,900.

Alex Smith, on the other hand, is a relatively cheap choice at only $6,900. Smith is priced lower than Blake Bortles ($7,200) and Ryan Tannehill ($7,000), who is out for the season. Ouch!

Brady is by far the more reliable option. He had more passing yards in 2016 (3,554) than Smith (3,502) in three fewer games. While Smith is known for protecting the ball, Brady is no slouch either! Smith threw only eight interceptions, but Brady only had two! The key difference is the latter had 28 touchdowns and the former just 15.

On FanDuel, Brady outscored Smith by an average of 6.2 points a week. It comes down to if Brady is worth extra $2,000 for an extra six points. If you like to load up at running back or wide receiver, then Smith might be a dependable option for you. If you like star power and dependability in your fantasy football quarterback, Brady is the man.
