Kansas City Chiefs Draft Prospects

Running Back

We shouldn’t see many problems for the Kansas City Chiefs at running back this year. However, they will likely lose everyone except Kareem Hunt to free agency in 2018. The Chiefs will need to be looking to reload at the position moving forward.

Akrum Wadley – Iowa

The Hawkeyes star running back came as advertised on Saturday. Akrum Wadley had a solid game, averaging 4.8 yards per carry in a 100+ yard performance. Wadley didn’t find the endzone, and was limited in terms of big carries. However, he was solid throughout the day and pounded Wyoming’s defense.

Lavon Coleman – Washington

It wasn’t a very good season debut for Lavon Coleman. Apart from a receiving touchdown, Coleman was essentially shut down by the Rutgers defense. That will hurt his draft stock quite a bit, and many will wonder if the preseason hype was really well-deserved. Fortunately for Coleman, it’s a long season and he can recover from a bad start.

Kalen Ballage – Arizona State

Despite splitting carries, it was actually a pretty good game for Kalen Ballage. The big Sun Devils back put up a very good performance, that included finding the endzone twice. This should absolutely keep him on the Chiefs radar moving forward.
