Mizzou Football: Report Card Vs Missouri State Bears
We’ll start with arguably the most important position on the field in the quarterback. For Mizzou football, that’s Drew Lock, and the kid had a hell of a 2017 debut for the Tigers.
Lock finished the season opener going 21 of 34 for 521 yards and a whopping seven touchdowns! Lock did throw an interception in the first quarter (and it was an ugly one), but it didn’t lead to any Missouri State points, so no harm done there.
That interception, however, is why I gave Lock an A- rather than an A, but he still played incredibly well in the opener. Lock has the potential to be a big name quarterback in college football and he’ll be carrying this team a lot as the season goes along.
With all of the weapons in Columbia this year, expect to hear Drew Lock’s name frequently. He started to look like he was figuring it out this year, which is a great sign. The competition will grow tougher obviously, but Lock didn’t appear to have any problems figuring out the Bears defense.
Will Lock continue to be this clutch? We’ll just have to wait and see.
