Missouri Tigers 2017 Season Preview

Schedule Breakdown: Games 5-8

Finishing the first four games of the season with a blowout loss is not ideal for the Missouri Tigers. That is especially true with their next two opponents. The Tigers have to find a way to rebound, and they aren’t going to catch any breaks on the schedule right away. There are some winnable games here, but breaking even is the goal.

Kentucky (7-6 in 2016)

Sometimes a bye week isn’t a good thing. The Missouri Tigers are going to have a whole week thinking about how badly they were beaten by Auburn before going on the road to face the Kentucky Wildcats. Mark Stoops has Kentucky playing very well right now, and they will be a tough team. In fact, I think too tough for Mizzou to handle in this one (2-3).

Georgia (8-4 in 2016)

The Missouri Tigers nearly knocked off Georgia last year, and they’ll be coming into this game with some confidence despite losing their last two. However, the Bulldogs will be coming into this one with revenge on their mind and homefield advantage. That’s simply going to be too much for Mizzou to handle and they lose this one (2-4).

Idaho (9-4 in 2016)

At this point, the Missouri Tigers are going to be in desperate need of a win. By no means should anyone be writing off the Idaho Vandals. This will not be an easy game. However, Mizzou is playing at home and with their backs against the wall. They need this win desperately. I think the Tigers get it (3-4).

Connecticut (3-9 in 2016)

The Missouri Tigers are going to finish up this stretch against a Connecticut team that doesn’t have very high expectations. The Tigers needed to find a place where they could string together back to back victories, and this is that opportunity. Mizzou takes this one (4-4).
