Missouri Tigers 2017 Season Preview

Players To Watch: Offense

There are some very good pieces coming back on offense for the Missouri Tigers. In fact, that figures to be the strength of the team. In 2016 the Tigers featured a 1000 yard running back in Damarea Crockett and a 1000 yard receiver in J’Mon Moore. Both players are coming back this season. Mizzou will definitely score some points.

Drew Lock (Jr) – QB

Of course, the offense begins and ends with the quarterback, and Mizzou has a pretty good one in Drew Lock. He’s not getting a lot of hype as far as a draft prospect, but Lock has certainly held his own in college. He threw for over 3000 yards and had 23 touchdown passes in 2016. Drew Lock is not someone to be overlooking.

Damarea Crockett (So) – RB

Breaking out as a freshman, Damarea Crocket probably has the most hype around him this season. Despite much of the national attention going to Georgia’s Nick Chubb, scouts are already talking up Crockett for the 2019 draft. Don’t be surprised if Crockett gets his name into the postseason awards conversation.

Paul Adams (Jr) – RT

There has been some shuffling of the Tigers offensive line, despite returning all five starters from last year. However, Paul Adams will remain a fixture at right tackle for Mizzou, and is a preseason 3rd-team All-SEC player. The offense will need him to be a reliable player there if they want to find consistency.

J’Mon Moore (Sr) – WR

It’s rare that a wide receiver returns for his senior year after putting up a 1000 yard season. However, the Tigers have just that in J’Mon Moore. You can bet that Moore will continue to be the favorite target of quarterback Drew Lock this year, and he should put up another monster season. This is a guy who has a chance to go early in the 2018 draft.
