Toughest Games for K-State Football in 2017 – Number 2: Oklahoma
Oklahoma got a new head football coach in Lincoln Riley and it shouldn’t set them back much. With that said, however, there is bound to be hardship and difficult transitions to be made when a new man steps in, especially when filling the shoes of former coach Bob Stoops.
This game is important for the Wildcats. There’s a good chance that KSU could be undefeated heading into their match-up with the Sooners and that’d put them within striking distance for a Big 12 Title.
This has to be a primetime game, right? K-State will be undefeated (well, hopefully) and OU should only have one loss (coming against Ohio State). One more loss and the Sooners could find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the College Football Playoff picture.
Oklahoma will without a doubt bring their best to Manhattan. Baker Mayfield will put it all on the line and play his heart out, yet in front of one of the loudest crowds in the Big 12 and a tough KSU football team. His bid to keep his Sooners alive in the playoff hunt will inevitably fall short. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for that at least.
