Toughest Games for K-State Football in 2017 – Number 4: at Texas

The new coach on Texas’ campus, Tom Herman, easily makes this a much harder game than it needs to be. He is a stellar coach and will certainly bring Texas back to relevancy, as the preseason rankings already prove. It just might take Herman a year or so to bring the Longhorns back to full relevancy

This Texas squad is loaded with talent and I’m actually amazed they didn’t do better under coach Charlie Strong. Herman gets those talented recruiting classes all to himself now and brings in a 2016 class ranked seventh, according to 24/7 Sports.

The player to watch for Texas is the quarterback Shane Buechele. He wasn’t exactly awful last season as a freshman, throwing for close to 3,000 yards and 21 touchdowns is a solid year for a freshman quarterback.

Since this game is at Texas, it makes this one a little closer. The Wildcats appear to have the Longhorns’ number, however, so they should be able to pull through and put another victory against Texas under their belt.
