SEPTEMBER CALL UPS – BRIAN FLYNN

One of the more bizarre injuries that occurred this past offseason was Royals pitcher Brian Flynn falling through the roof of his barn. Luckily Flynn was okay, but that fall pretty much cost him his 2017 season.

The hope was that Flynn would be a nice option to have in the bullpen, but it just didn’t work out that way.

Flynn appeared in one game for Kansas City this year, but has spent most of his time in Omaha. He struggled with the Stormchasers, throwing 50 innings and allowing 30 earned runs during that time, good for a 5.40 ERA.

Flynn had a nice year for the Royals in 2016, tossing 55.1 innings and posting a 2.60 ERA. The hope was that Flynn would be a nice option to have in the bullpen this year, but it just didn’t work out that way thus far.

Hopefully Brian Flynn gets a shot at redemption in September and can help these Royals relievers get some well-deserved days off. The bullpen needs help and Brian Flynn can most definitely offer his services.

*UPDATE – BRIAN FLYNN IS ON THE DISABLED LIST AS OF TUESDAY*
