SEPTEMBER CALL UPS – HUNTER DOZIER

With their first round pick in 2013, the Kansas City Royals drafted Hunter Dozier, who only recently turned 26 years old. Dozier saw some action at the MLB level a season ago, appearing in eight games and seeing 19 at bats.

With Dozier’s ability to play several different positions, he will become a nice asset to have.

The former first round pick had four hits, scored four runs, and had an RBI as well. He slashed just .211/.286/.263 during that time, but it wasn’t really a big sample size.

With Dozier’s ability to play several different positions, he will become a nice asset to have during this time. He was initially thought to be the future at third base after Mike Moustakas, but also has seen time in the outfield and could even slide in at first base if needed.

Last year, Dozier spent time in right field for the Royals and also was the designated hitter in one game. He’ll get put just about everywhere during his time in the big leagues and hopefully he starts to look more productive this year.

An injury kept him away from the big leagues for most of the year, but he should be ready to contribute now. At least that’s the hope for Hunter Dozier and the KC Royals.
