SEPTEMBER CALL UPS – RAMON TORRES

For weeks, Ramon Torres was literally the only backup infield option for the Royals, as they had to stack their bullpen and pitching corps. Torres returned to Omaha once Cheslor Cuthbert was okay to return, but will be coming back to Kansas City soon.

Torres did all right while in the majors, slashing .242/.299/.290 with three RBI in 62 at bats. He’ll be someone that this team could rely on heavily in the coming years, especially if both Escobar and Moustakas leave in free agency.

Ramon Torres is batting over .300 in the minors and will hopefully be a decent MLB contributor when he gets the chance to play on a daily basis. With injuries tattering this Royals lineup, expect to see Torres get a start or two down the stretch.

Torres will be an easy guy to bring back to Kansas City for the roster expansions. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that his nice play for the StormChasers continues on when he gets promoted.
