SEPTEMBER CALL UPS – PAULO ORLANDO

Does anyone remember when Paulo Orlando played for the Royals this year? His time with the team was brief, as the outfielder only appeared in 14 games and batted a mere .149 during that time.

Orlando was then sent to the minors and spent the majority of the summer on the disabled list. I wrote a post earlier on in the summer on how I didn’t think Royals fans would ever see Orlando play another game for this team, but the joke could very well be on me.

Orlando has spent the last week in Omaha and will be an easy choice to bring to Kansas City for September call-ups. He’s spent time all over the outfield for the Royals and is pretty quick. He might not see a lot of starting time, but he could be a late defensive sub or a pinch runner if the Royals can get a key runner in scoring position.
