FIVE COOLEST NICKNAMES FOR PLAYERS WEEKEND: NUMBER 4 – “BEAR”

Is there an athlete in Kansas City more beloved than Danny Duffy? I’m not sure that there is to be honest.

Duffy decided to go with the nickname “Bear” for his Player’s Weekend jersey, which according to him is what his mother used to call him when he was a kid. Duffy was also well-known for wearing a bear suit in the clubhouse during the 2014 postseason.

One of Duffy’s most memorable moments as a Royal was when Joel Goldberg asked Duffy what he was wearing and he responded with, “It’s a bear suit, Joel.” Gotta love it.

Duffy seems like he’d be a cool guy to hang out with and I love that he went with his childhood nickname for his Player’s Weekend jersey. It shows that he still gives love to the people in his life who get him to this point.

Duffy could have gone with other names like “Duffman” or to take it a step further, put “Oh Yeah!” on the back of his jersey, but I like the route that he went with. Nice to see guys have some fun with this. That was the point after all.
