MARCUS PETERS

“California Love” by 2Pac

The Kansas City Chiefs struck gold when they drafted Marcus Peters in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Peters was a bit of a hot head during his time at Washington, but he’s made a huge difference in the Chiefs secondary during his short time in the league.

Despite Peters playing extremely well as a member of the Chiefs, it’s sometimes a tough pill to swallow knowing that he’s a product of Oakland, California. That’s right… The same Oakland that houses the Raiders (well, for now), who have always been a huge rival to our beloved Chiefs.

Peters might be a California native, but he’s a member of Chiefs Kingdom.

The reason I was so excited that the Raiders’ move to Las Vegas is official is that I was terrified Peters would want to return home once his contract with the Chiefs was up. That’s how much Oakland means to Peters and who can blame him? It’s his hometown after all.

With Peters being a California kid, it made all the sense in the world to have his song be “California Love” by the one and only 2Pac.

"California, knows how to party In the city of L.A. In the city of good ol’ Watts In the city, the city of Compton We keep it rocking (keep it rocking)"

Peters might be a California native, but he’s a member of Chiefs Kingdom and we’ll allow him to rep his hometown during his run out of the tunnel.
