DERRICK JOHNSON

“Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba

One of the oldest guys on the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster is none other than Derrick Johnson, who was the team’s first round pick in 2005. Only he and Dustin Colquitt remain from that year’s draft, but Johnson really doesn’t even seem like he’s aged all that much over the last 12 years.

Johnson has had some rough injuries over the last few years, but the guy keeps coming back stronger than ever.

Johnson has had some rough injuries over the last few years, but the guy keeps coming back stronger than ever. He never lets a season ending injury rain on his parade, and because of his hard work ethic and ability to never let the game beat him, Johnson’s walk-out song is “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again You are never gonna keep me down I get knocked down, but I get up again You are never gonna keep me down"

The song itself is really, really stupid, but hey, it’s a classic! Whenever this song starts playing, everyone is singing along and doing the Charleston. There’s no doubt that if it came on while Johnson was running out of the tunnel that everyone would be pumping their fists and hooting and hollering.

The 1990s were a crazy time.
