RAKEEM NUNEZ-ROCHES

“Dark Horse” by Katy Perry

There are a lot of underrated players on the Kansas City Chiefs defense, but there might not be a more underrated guy than Rakeem Nunez-Roches, or “Nacho”, as he’s sometimes referred to as. Nunez-Roches was a sixth round pick in 2015, but found his way onto the field as a starter last season and fared quite nicely. He notched 14 tackles and one sack in 11 games and five starts.

Nacho has continued to look good this preseason and he’s becoming an under appreciated member of the Chiefs defense. As such, he gets the honor of walking out to the Arrowhead turf to the beat of “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry.

[Nunez-Roche’s] becoming an under appreciated member of the Chiefs defense.

A dark horse is typically someone who’s under the radar to most, but tends to succeed anyway. Doesn’t that match Nunez-Roche as an NFL player?

"Cause I’m coming atcha like a dark horse Are you ready for, ready for A perfect storm, perfect storm Cause once you’re mine, once you’re mine There’s no going back"

Now, it’s worth noting that the best part of “Dark Horse” is the rap by Juicy-J (which sometimes is edited out on the radio, WHAT THE HELL), but the main chorus fits Nacho’s NFL career pretty well.

He eat your heart out… like Jeffrey Dahmer. How many Katy Perry fans do you think actually understand that reference?
