Top 15 Rookies to Target in Fantasy Football: Number 10 – Alvin Kamara

The New Orleans Saints added a few running backs this offseason in the form of Adrian Peterson and in rookie Alvin Kamara. The Saints also still have Mark Ingram on their team, which gives them three running backs to slot in on offense.

Peterson has always been injury prone and I really don’t see him making much of an impact in the Big Easy. Peterson had less than 100 yards rushing last year and made it easy for the Vikings to cut bait with him.

It shows how little faith the Saints had in Peterson when they took Kamara in the third round and the Tennessee back should provide some spark to the New Orleans run game. What I like about Kamara is that he also can make receiving plays, putting up nearly 700 yards receiving and seven touchdowns in his two years in Knoxville.

The Saints love to pass with Drew Brees as their quarterback and the future Hall of Famer will gladly throw Kamara open down the field. In my eyes, Kamara will either be really great or he’ll be a total bust. There’s no “good weeks here and bad weeks here”, it’ll be one or the other. Hopefully it’s the really great option.

Target Alvin Kamara in the later rounds. If you end up with Adrian Peterson or Mark Ingram, make it a point to look for him near the last part of your draft.
