Kansas football all-time receiving yards: 7. Bob Johnson (1,789)

Bob Johnson had about as good of a season as any college wide receiver could have in 1983. Johnson grabbed 58 catches for 1,154 yards and seven touchdowns, proving to be the driving force on that KU offense.

Johnson’s first two years at Kansas weren’t all that special, but that third year really propelled him on this list. He ended his KU tenure with 89 receptions for 1,789 yards and ten touchdowns.

Johnson went on to spend three years in the NFL with the New York Giants and won a Super Bowl with them. He had 1,862 yards and 20 touchdowns during his short NFL career, but accomplished more in the NFL in just three seasons than most guys do in over a decade.

His nice 1983 campaign helped boost Johnson’s receiving yards and he sits seventh all-time on this list for the Jayhawks.
