Kansas football all-time receiving yards: 2. Kerry Meier (2,309)

Arguably one of the biggest names in Kansas football history is Kerry Meier, who put up 2,309 receiving yards in four seasons with the team. Meier, along with quarterback Todd Reesing, became one of the most fun Jayhawks to watch and it’s no wonder that he’s second all-time in receiving yards.

Meier’s success as a wide receiver is even more impressive when you take into consideration that he was lined in as a quarterback during his freshman and sophomore years. Meier made the transition to wideout in 2008 (his junior year) and the Jayhawks reaped the benefits for sure.

Kerry Meier went on to record 226 catches for 2,309 yards and 18 touchdowns. He put up eight touchdowns in both 2008 and 2009 and had over 1,000 yards receiving during that 2008 season. He nearly broke the 1,000 yard mark again in 2009, but fell 15 yards short.

To say that Kerry Meier is one of the best wide receivers in Kansas football history wouldn’t be a crazy statement at all. A lot of Rock Chalk fans can still hear the infamous “TOUCHDOWN! TOUCHDOWN! KERRY MEIER!” call when Meier found the end zone against the Missouri Tigers in the beloved Border War.

If Kerry Meier is only second on this list, who is first?
