Kansas football all-time receiving yards: 6. Emmett Edwards (1,846)

Back when the Jayhawks were in the Big 8, Emmett Edwards was doing his thing in Lawrence. He never had a 1,000 yard season during his three seasons, but still put up impressive numbers every year. He totaled 109 receptions for 1,846 yards and six touchdowns.

Edwards’ best year was in 1973 where he caught 53 passes for 840 yards and had three trips into the end zone. That year saw KU go 7-4-1 and resulted in them making a bowl game appearance (though they’d go on to lose).

Edwards did spend some time in the NFL after being a second round pick by the Houston Oilers. He only was in the pros for two years and spent time with both the Oilers and the Bills. Edwards recorded just four catches for 75 yards.

Despite his short pro career, Edwards still sits just outside the top five in all-time receiving yards for the Kansas Jayhawks.
