Kansas City Chiefs Stock Report

Stock Down: Jah Reid

The starting offensive line for the Kansas City Chiefs has looked good so far. Unfortunately, you can’t say that for most of the guys playing behind them. That includes veteran Jah Reid who has struggled early on this preseason. Reid is supposed to be a solidifying force on the depth chart for the Chiefs. Instead he has been a liability on the field.

It may be that Jah Reid is overwhelmed in being tasked with backing up two different positions. However, he should have enough experience to be able to take on that role. The Chiefs have had to turn to him in the past, so it’s not like he doesn’t know this offense.

With the money that Jah Reid is making, the Chiefs absolutely need him to show more than he is. You can’t be a backup not living up to his paycheck in the NFL. That’s a surefire way to end up unemployed. As it stands, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kansas City try to move him in a trade.
