Kansas City Chiefs: Things Learned In Preseason Week 2

#4 Kareem Hunt Will Be A Factor

There was absolutely no doubt that the Kansas City Chiefs wanted to see just what Kareem Hunt could do this week. After getting limited touches in the preseason opener, Hunt led the team with eight carries this week, and added three receptions. All in all, it was an impressive day for the rookie running back.

This is a big wrinkle for the running back battle in Kansas City. Spencer Ware got very limited work this week, while Hunt was on the field with the first team for most of the night. Performing well with the starters is the kind of thing that can help him overtake Ware on the depth chart.

Kareem Hunt brings a very solid skill set to the Chiefs roster, and he put it on display. Hunt got to the line of scrimmage quickly and did not go down easily. He was also a solid receiver out of the backfield. Those are the kinds of things that Kansas City really needs from their top running back. This very well could result in a change on the depth chart.
