KC Chiefs: Toughest player to account for on each team in 2017
WEEK 2: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES – MALCOLM JENKINS, DB
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best secondaries in the league and will test the waters with Alex Smith in week two of the regular season. Malcolm Jenkins leads the charge in that Eagles secondary, picking off three passes last year and taking two of them to the house for touchdowns.
What makes me nervous about Jenkins and that Eagles secondary is the fact that the Chiefs might not have a super effective run game going with Spencer Ware and company. If that’s the case, then Smith is going to have his work cut out for him.
Passing against good secondaries can be worrisome especially when the team has someone as good as Jenkins. He might have only had three interceptions last year, but two of those were pick sixes. He has the ability to crank off some huge plays for the Birds, and that’s concerning.
Jenkins also recorded 44 tackles a season ago. He’s a force to be reckoned with on the Eagles defense and with the Chiefs offense lacking a solid wide receiver, Jenkins could eventually take over this game.
