Kansas City Chiefs: 10 Things To Watch Vs The Bengals

#7 Who Gets The Start At Slot Receiver

As training camp first got underway, it appeared the Kansas City Chiefs were going with Demarcus Robinson as the starting slot receiver. However, there has been some mixing and matching since then, and it appears we have a position battle on our hands. That will be something worth keeping an eye on this weekend.

Last year, the Chiefs used a receiver by committee approach in the slot. Tyreek Hill got a lot of the work, but Albert Wilson and De’Anthony Thomas got mixed in a good bit. Kansas City may be on track to utilize a similar system with an adjusted cast this year. That has it’s good and bad elements.

However, I do believe that the Chiefs would be best served by having one player take the role full time. Having stability there, with just minor changes here and there is a much better way to go. So tracking who gets the most snaps there against the Bengals should reveal what the coaching staff is thinking.
