#8 Who Gets The Starting Snaps At Inside Linebacker?
Ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft, many considered the inside linebacker position to be a major concern for the Kansas City Chiefs. Apparently the team didn’t feel quite as strongly as they passed over a number of talented prospects. Instead, the Chiefs seem ready to roll with Derrick Johnson and Ramik Wilson as the starters.
During practices, it has been Ramik Wilson lining up next to Derrick Johnson in most scenarios. However, Wilson has also often been the player called upon to replace Johnson with the second team. That is a very interesting turn of events for the Chiefs and may give some insight about the future.
There are other players in the mix, but it seems as though Ramik Wilson is starting to distance himself from the pack. I believe that is good news for Kansas City as that could mean Wilson is the eventual heir to Derrick Johnson when the latter retires.
