Fantasy Football: Top 15 Quarterbacks to Target in 2017
Fantasy Football Quarterbacks to Target in 2017 – Number 4: RUSSELL WILSON
2016 Ranking: 10th
Russell Wilson can be one of the most frustrating “top tier” quarterbacks to have in fantasy football. Some weeks he can go off the charts and give his owners 43 points for the week and then other weeks, he’ll only earn nine points.
For the most part though, Wilson is a great quarterback to have on your team. The Seahawks quarterback has yet to miss a game during his five-year (about to start his sixth year) career and he does a nice job at protecting the football. He’s basically an improved version of Alex Smith.
Wilson is one of the better mobile quarterbacks in the league and had 259 rushing yards last season to go along with one touchdown. In 2014, Wilson had over 800 yards on the ground and six touchdowns, which goes to show you the kind of damage he can do with his legs.
When looking at Seattle’s offense, Wilson has a nice group to throw to, including Doug Baldwin, Jimmy Graham, Jermaine Kearse, and Tyler Lockett. There really isn’t a whole lot to dog on Wilson for and he only had one awful game in 2016 (17 of 33 for 151 yards and two interceptions) which was a loss to the Buccaneers.
Wilson is worth drafting high simply due to his ability to pass and run the ball effectively. He’s a solid fourth or fifth round selection for your team.
