Kansas City Chiefs: 10 Things From St Joe’s
#10 Ramik Wilson Finally Being Appreciated
I’ve been banging the war drum for Ramik Wilson ever since the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him. However, it has seemed like from day one nobody else has been on board, including the Chiefs. That seems to have finally changed though as Wilson is now getting the bulk of the starting reps at inside linebacker in practice.
Over his first two seasons in the NFL, Ramik Wilson has actually racked up a decent amount of starting time for the Chiefs. Wilson has filled in for injured starters at both inside linebacker positions. Last season, Wilson came in for Derrick Johnson and actually put up some impressive numbers, despite having not made the team out of training camp.
The fact that the Chiefs are now giving Ramik Wilson the bulk of starting reps at inside linebacker means they’ve seen something in him. That’s good news for the team as this was a position with some concern for the future. Hopefully Wilson will continue to improve this year and earn a long-term starting job in Kansas City.
