Tanoh Kpassagnon – DE/OLB
There was no question that most people viewed Kansas City Chiefs 2nd round pick Tanoh Kpassagnon as a developmental guy. While Kpassagnon has looked very good (and versatile) in practices so far, it’s clear that the Chiefs intend to keep developing him. In fact, it appears that the team is even considering a bit of a position change for him.
That’s the big development with Tanoh Kpassagnon. The Chiefs have apparently seen enough of his athleticism to give him a look at outside linebacker. If Kpassagnon can make that transition, it will be an interesting situation for Kansas City. I’m not sure that he has a better chance of starting there this season, but for the future it’s a notable move.
How Does He Get On The Field?
Tanoh Kpassagnon’s path to starting may require something similar to that of Chris Jones. Last year, Jones didn’t earn starting reps until injuries forced the situation. With Jones, Allen Bailey, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches on the roster, Kpassagnon faces a similar journey. At outside linebacker, he has just as much competition right now.
