Stock Down: Tyler Bray
The expectation for most Kansas City Chiefs fans is that Patrick Mahomes will eventually overtake Tyler Bray for the top backup job. That may have actually come early as Tyler Bray didn’t have a great showing in the preseason opener. In fact, a change may already be happening.

The big mark against Tyler Bray is that he was the only Chiefs quarterback to not lead a touchdown drive. Granted, that was due to a pretty questionable pass interference call, but it’s not like he didn’t have a chance afterwards. Bray also threw the only interception of the game, and looked the least refined under pressure. That’s huge.
I doubt that the Chiefs will make any permanent decisions off of that game, but it does appear that there is already consideration to bump Tyler Bray down. It shouldn’t be surprising if Patrick Mahomes gets work with the second team offense in the next contest. If Mahomes doesn’t mess up, then Bray will be officially knocked to the third spot.
