Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target in 2017 – Number 9: ZACH ERTZ

2016 Ranking: 6th

With Carson Wentz heading into year two of his pro career, Zach Ertz‘s draft stock should only increase as fantasy football draft season approaches. The new quarterback made a difference for the Eagles tight end, as Ertz had 183.6 points last year in leagues.

Ertz totaled a whopping 78 receptions for 816 yards and four touchdowns in the fourth season of his career. He stayed relatively healthy for the first time during his pro career and should be a legitimate starter at tight end for whoever drafts him.

Ertz is one of those “middle of the road” tight ends. He’s good, but not elite. To get those elite guys, you’ll have to spend a pick on a tight end in the first few rounds. Ertz should still be sitting there by the tenth round, which is when I’d advise on taking a tight end.

With year two of the Carson Wentz Experiment underway, Ertz should be worthy of a middle round pick. Hopefully Wentz doesn’t regress and Ertz can stay healthy for his fantasy football owners.
