Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target in 2017 – Number 3: JORDAN REED

2016 Ranking: 9th

Despite missing four games due to injury, Jordan Reed still managed to be one of the best tight ends in the league last year. He totaled 168.6 points in fantasy football and had a total of 686 yards off of 66 receptions. Reed had six touchdowns as well.

While some might be skeptical of drafting Reed so early due to his injury, he’s worth the gamble. When healthy, Reed is one of the best tight ends in all of football. Kirk Cousins never shies away from getting the ball to him either, which makes this a win-win for you (especially if you draft Cousins as well).

Reed is a name to watch out for during the preseason. He likely won’t be playing much, but if your fantasy draft is occurring in the next few weeks, you’ll want to be reading up on his health.

The Redskins lost DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon this offseason, so Reed will be even more valuable to whichever fantasy owner lands him. He should pay off well.

Reed isn’t someone I would reach on, mainly due to the injury concerns, but he’s a safe pick to draft around round five. To be safe, I’d grab someone like an Eric Ebron or Hunter Henry later on, just to cover your bases.
