Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target in 2017 – Number 6: TYLER EIFERT

2016 Ranking: 25th

When Tyler Eifert is healthy, he’s a top five tight end option in fantasy football. That’s the issue though. Eifert has struggled to stay healthy since the Bengals made him their first round pick in 2013.

The production is certainly there, but it’s all a matter of if you trust him to stay on the field.

Since being a first round selection four years ago, Eifert has only started in 30 games. He’s played in more than ten just twice in his career and only started two games for the Bengals a year ago.

In his eight games in 2016, Eifert managed to grab 29 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns. The production is certainly there, but it’s all a matter of if you trust him to stay on the field. He had 98.4 fantasy points last year, which is impressive considering how little he actually played.

Fantasy owners loved Eifert in 2015 with the former Notre Dame standout totaling 13 touchdowns, but his follow-up season was a disappointing one for sure. Be cautious when drafting Tyler Eifert. Make sure you nab another decent tight end to slot in as a starter in case he does go down.
