Kansas City Chiefs Depth Chart Surprises
#3 De’Anthony Thomas Getting Some Love
You would not have been alone if you thought that the Kansas City Chiefs were done with De’Anthony Thomas. The young wide receiver has seen his workload diminish quite a bit. However, the Chiefs first depth chart tells us a very different story early on. Thomas is listed as the top kick returner, and holds a second team spot at wide receiver.
There is no denying that De’Anthony Thomas can be a dangerous weapon when he’s on top of his game. However, the Chiefs simply haven’t been able to find much occasion to use him recently. If that has changed, it could provide a nice little wrinkle to the offense that opponents will struggle to counter.
With Tyreek Hill looking to take on a starting receiver role, the Chiefs may need a different return specialist. If that is the case, then De’Anthony Thomas is absolutely the best candidate. If Kansas City can also get some offensive production out of him, all the better.
