#8 Houston Texans
The Texans boast one of the most dangerous tandems of pass rushers in the NFL. That’s good news for Fantasy Football owners. However, this unit has NEVER stayed healthy and that’s awful news for Fantasy Football owners. They’re worth the investment, but buyer beware and have a backup unit ready.
2016 Ranking: 12th
If you could guarantee me that the Houston Texans defense wasn’t going to suffer a major injury this year, they would easily be in my top five. However, you can’t because history says it won’t happen. So I’m dropping them to the eight spot. Given that this would be an improvement on 2016, I don’t feel bad about it at all.
The Texans have so much talent on defense, but they just can’t put things together. Another year of quarterback uncertainty won’t help that out. However, this really all comes down to the health of JJ Watt and Jadeveon Clowney. If those two can go a full year together, watch out.
