Week 3 – Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers

Sunday, September 24th, 2017 (3:25 CST kickoff on CBS)

The San Diego Chargers relocated to Los Angeles this past offseason and will be hosting their games at a soccer stadium in Los Angeles until their new stadium is ready to go. The Chiefs will head to that soccer stadium in week three to play the newly relocated Chargers, who honestly, aren’t getting a lot of credit heading into the season.

Sure, when it comes to the AFC West, the Chargers are the easy group to disregard. They’ve had bad records the past two seasons and last year were the only team to lose to the Cleveland Browns. That should just about get you thrown out of the league these days.

The Chargers are going to be a better team than advertised. Philip Rivers is a future Hall of Fame quarterback who has just been placed into a crappy situation with the Chargers. He can absolutely lead a team to a Super Bowl and now should have a better unit to do so with (not saying he will, but you get the idea).

Joey Bosa was a monster on the defensive side of the football last season and I could see him becoming a guy that Chiefs fans grow to hate over the next decade or so. He and Melvin Ingram could become one of the best pass rushing duos in the entire league.

When looking at the Chiefs and Chargers recent history, however, it’s been really lopsided. The Chiefs have swept the Chargers in each of the last three seasons and some of those losses have really made the Chargers look quite foolish.

With it being nearly four years since the Bolts have won a game against the Chiefs, I really think they’re due for a victory and they’ll get it in week three of the regular season. Sorry, Chiefs fans… No 6-0 in the AFC West this year.

Prediction: In another nail biter, the Chiefs fall short this time. 28-21, Chargers.

Standout Player: Spencer Ware had a nice outing against the Chargers in week one last year and he does well against them again. He goes off for two touchdowns and nearly wins this one on his own.
