Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp 2017: First week review
By Ben Almquist
After the first week of Kansas City Chiefs training camp, we take a look at who is standing out and who is fading away. Here are the first batch of winners and losers.
The Kansas City Chiefs are underway for their 2017 training camp. The team is all present at St Joe’s, Missouri, and practices are moving along. As always, you have some players standing out while others are struggling to keep up. It’s just the nature of competitive sports. However, keeping track of who is doing well can be a good indicator for the regular season.
With the first week of practices wrapping up today, we take a look back at who has been standing out and who needs to step up. Every roster competition has a winner and a loser. There have been some surprising standouts so far in camp this year, but also some surprising slow starts.
With the Chiefs looking towards their first preseason game, you can expect the intensity to heat up a bit. That means the competition will be getting even stronger. For some players, that will mean proving they deserve a spot on the roster. For others, it will mean a trip to the coach’s office with their playbooks.
We’ll go position by position and break down who your first week winners and losers are right now. Obviously this can all change in just a single day of practice, but it’s where we’re at for now. The 2017 season isn’t that far off and you can feel the excitement in Chiefs Kingdom.
Let’s get this started…
